(KRON) — The El Cerrito Plaza BART station was closed Tuesday morning due to a “major medical emergency,” according to the Bay Area Rapid Transit. A major medical emergency is typically the term the transit agency uses to describe a fatality on a BART train or at a BART station.
BART service has been halted between North Berkeley and Richmond as a result of the closure. No other details were immediately provided. BART gave no estimated time of reopening for the station.
