(KRON) — The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office said detectives made an alarming home discovery when they served an arrest warrant for a felon who allegedly had a firearm.
Detectives said when they searched the Bay Point home of 35-year-old Gregory Martin on Thursday, they uncovered “two stolen handguns, a short-barreled rifle, as well as weapons without serial numbers.”
The sheriff’s office said Martin was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility. He faces several charges, including possession of a short-barreled rifle, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and possession of an assault rifle.
Martinez is being held in lieu of $360,000 bail.
The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office said the case remains open.
