(KRON) — The Oakland Police Department (OPD) announced an arrest in connection with a Wednesday late night shooting that left one person dead.
OPD said officers responded to a report of a shooting just before 11:15 p.m. in the 9400 block of International Boulevard.
Oakland PD said they located a victim at the scene who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics tried life-saving measures, but that person later succumbed to their injuries, said OPD.
Police said during the investigation, they took one individual into custody who was tied to the incident.
OPD said the victim’s name has not yet been released pending a positive identification and notification to next of kin.
Despite an arrest in the case, Oakland PD is asking anyone with information to call its Homicide Section at 510-238-3821 or its TIP LINE at 238-7950. If anyone has any videos or photos that could help in the investigation, they are asked to send them to cidvideos@oaklandca.gov.
