Pasadena temporarily bans leaf blowers to combat poor air quality

The city of Pasadena has issued a temporary ban on power air blowers and air propelling devices, like leaf blowers, until further notice.

Officials hope the ban will help limit the negative health impacts of fire ash, smoke, and particulate matter due to the ongoing Eaton Fire and strong winds.

“Power air blowers and air propelling devices stir up ash and particulate matter into the air, further worsening air quality and increasing health risks for everyone, especially for individuals with respiratory conditions, older adults, children, and other vulnerable populations. Temporarily banning these devices will help protect the health and wellbeing of residents,” a news release said.
