A video taken in the Mid-City neighborhood of Los Angeles shows a Mercedes-Benz driver swerving aggressively through a pack of bicyclists blocking the roadway.
The video posted to Instagram by whitewallstuntz_ and shared with KTLA shows the Mercedes-Benz driving erratically, sometimes on the wrong side of the road, for about a half mile on Olympic Boulevard around 2 p.m. Saturday.
Someone could be heard screaming “Hey move” and ” Hey watch out” several times as the car weaves through the bike riders who have taken over the street between Rimpau Boulevard and Highland Avenue.
A second Instagram video shows several people stomping on and vandalizing what appears to be the same Mercedes-Benz in a parking garage.
Many of them are also seen chasing a person in a gray sweatshirt.
Rules for bike riders in California indicate that if they are moving slower than traffic they should ride as close to the side of the road as possible unless passing, preparing to make a left turn, avoiding hazards or if the lane is too narrow to share.
Riding side-by-side should only be done when it does not impede traffic.
It was unclear if anyone was injured in the incident or if police responded.
