(KRON) — A quadruple shooting in Oakland on New Year’s Eve left one person dead, police say. The deceased is one of three people who were slain Tuesday in separate incidents across the city.
At around 10:10 p.m., the Oakland Police Department responded to the 200 block of 2nd Street for a report of a shooting. Arriving officers found one victim at the scene with a gunshot wound or wounds, authorities said. The victim was rushed to the hospital by paramedics and is listed in stable condition.
Shortly after the response to 2nd Street, three additional victims wounded by gunshots arrived at a local hospital. One of the three succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The remaining two victims were listed in stable condition.
Police believe that the three victims who self-transported to the hospital were also wounded at the 2nd Street shooting.
Hours earlier on Tuesday, Oakland PD officers responded to a fatal stabbing on the 1900 block of 70th Avenue. Emergency crews arrived just after 7:15 p.m. and located a victim with a stab wound or wounds, police said. The victim was transported to an area hospital where they were pronounced deceased.
On the morning of New Year’s Eve, another person was shot and killed in West Oakland. Police responded at 7:15 a.m. to the 1300 block of 14th Street on the report of a shooting. Arriving officers located a victim with a gunshot wound or wounds, OPD said. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities are withholding the identities of those slain pending notification of next of kin.
