(KRON) – Two guns and numerous bags of marijuana were seized in the arrest of six individuals, according to the San Jose Police Department.
On Friday, San Jose police officers pulled over a car for a code violation, where they conducted a vehicle search. Police said officers found a loaded unregistered handgun and multiple bags of marijuana. Three suspects were taken into custody after the traffic stop.
The next day, SJPD stopped a pedestrian for a municipal code violation on three individuals. The subjects attempted to flee, officers said, but were detained. Police located a loaded unserialized short-barrel rifle on one of the subject’s waistbands. The suspect was arrested and booked into a local jail. The other two suspects were minors, who were booked into Juvenile Hall.
The department said officers have seized more than 850 firearms this year.
