As the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Moreno Valley Station put it, there’s “never a dull moment” for law enforcement.
That was especially true on Monday, when a man allegedly pulled the driver out of an ambulance while it was on a call and stole the vehicle.
The incident, which took place just after 4 p.m. in the area of Sunnymead Boulevard and Indian Street, was detailed in a social media post by the department.
While the department didn’t specify exactly how far the suspect drove the stolen ambulance, he eventually crashed it into a fire hydrant, retaining wall, and palm tree.
No injuries were reported. The man was arrested and booked into jail, according to authorities.
