SF jury convicts man for multiple Mission District robberies

(KRON) – A San Francisco jury has convicted Bruce Blanco of committing multiple robberies in the city’s Mission District, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced Monday.  

On Jan. 20, 2022, the San Francisco Police Department found Blanco, 40, in possession of ammunition in the Mission District. 

Less than three months later, Blanco robbed a man returning home from work. According to the DA’s office, Blanco asked a man walking up the stairs to his apartment for a dollar. When the man reached for his wallet, Blanco pulled out a gun and demanded all of the victim’s money and the victim complied. 

On March 18, 2022, Blanco robbed a seafood restaurant in the Mission District. The DA’s office said the deliveryman opened the door. Blanco pulled out a gun and ordered the chef to open the register. However, Blanco left the restaurant empty-handed. SFPD spotted Blanco and arrested him after locating a firearm and ammunition.

Blanco was convicted of the following charges:

Blanco is awaiting his next court date, which is Nov. 20, in custody. 

Assistant District Attorney John Roman prosecuted this case. He said, “The jury was able to reach a just verdict in this case based on the courage of the victims and the professionalism of San Francisco Police Officers.”
