OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Oakland Division reported that a fatal collision involving two vehicles has closed the Interstate-580 Eastbound to I-980 Westbound ramp. Additionally, the third lane of I-580 Eastbound is also shut down.
CHP said the crash occurred at 3:10 p.m. Saturday and involved a semi-truck and a white Toyota Camry.

Officials said the driver of the Toyota succumbed to his injuries. There are no reports of injuries to the other driver involved.
CHP stated that a tow truck is on-site assisting with clearing the scene, but there is currently no estimated time for when that will be completed.
