Orange County Top 10 rankings
(Records through Oct. 6)
1. Newport Harbor (19-2): The Sailors take over the top spot with their 18-game winning streak and back-to-back tournament titles.
2. Orange Lutheran (18-1): The Lancers slip from the top spot after losing to Mater Dei 12-6.
3. Huntington Beach (17-7): The El Toro tournament runner-up beat Corona del Mar 21-13 last week.
4. Corona del Mar (16-7): The Sea Kings, who took third at the El Toro tournament, start the week in second place in the Sunset League.
5. Santa Margarita (14-3): The Eagles ride a three-game winning streak into their game at Mater Dei on Tuesday night. They collected two wins at the Women of Will tournament of the weekend at Mission Viejo.
6. Aliso Niguel (21-2): The Wolverines play at undefeated St. Joseph (17-0) on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the Rams’ game of the week.
7. JSerra (17-6): The Lions play host to Orange Lutheran on Tuesday in the tough Trinity League.
8. Cypress (14-6): The Centurions went 2-0 at the Women of Will tournament on Saturday at Mission Viejo.
9. Woodbridge (15-5): The Warriors start the week 10-0 in the Pacific Coast League and riding a 14-game winning streak.
10. Crean Lutheran (14-8): The Saints are dueling Cypress (4-2) and Esperanza (4-2) in the Crestview League with a 4-1 record entering Monday.
Also considered: Esperanza (12-10), Los Alamitos (10-9)
