(KRON) — The Walnut Creek Police Department (WCPD) is asking the public for information about a jewelry store robbery that happened on the 1300 block of North Main Street.
Walnut Creek police said at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, four suspects, armed with sledgehammers, ran inside of the business and broke the display cases. Investigators said the suspects stole an undisclosed amount of purses and jewelry, and then fled in a silver sedan that was last seen heading south on North Main Street. WCPD said officers arrived at the crime scene within minutes of the call being reported.
Police said the suspects were also described by witnesses as “males wearing sweatshirts, gloves, and wearing face coverings.”
A store employee was treated at the scene for minor injuries from the broken glass, said officials.
