Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is doing his part to help a Georgia high school heal from tragedy. He recently surprised the Apalachee High School football team.

Earlier this month four people died in a school shooting on the campus.

Last week, The Rock brought the Apalachee Wildcats to a soundstage in Atlanta where he’s filming an upcoming movie. He visited with the kids and took photos with the team.

“I didn’t know what to expect when I walked in to meet them – I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by their spirit and energy,” Johnson said in his caption to Instagram. “I looked these kids in their eyes and hugged ‘em – I know they’re in great pain, but man are they resilient and staying strong.”

The “Jumanji” star said it felt as if the students “just needed a reason, an opportunity to just ‘let it all go’ in this moment.”

As Johnson said his goodbyes, the last student he hugged said “we needed this Rock,” and the WWE superstar turned movie star said he needed it as well.

The Teremana founder’s good deed doesn’t end there.

The 52-year-old said he promised the team to be at the team’s first home game on Oct. 4.
