(KRON) — Bay Area residents got a bit of a shake Friday afternoon. An earthquake was felt about 8 miles east of Milpitas and 5 miles northeast of Alum Rock.
The quake, which was 9 miles east-northeast of San Jose, registered a 3.4 magnitude at 3:15 p.m., according to the United States Geological Survey.
There were no preliminary reports of injuries or damages from the quake. The shaking felt in the South Bay, East Bay and San Francisco Peninsula was categorized as “weak” to “light” after 1,115 public responses to USGS’s “Did You Feel It?” report.
