OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) — An employee of an Oakland gas station opened fire after a suspect tried to ram their way into the store with a vehicle, the Oakland Police Department said.
The shooting happened at Shell, located at 3750 International Blvd. just before 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
Officers received a ShotSpotter notification and found evidence of a shooting and major damage to the gas station but no victims with gunshot wounds.
OPD learned that multiple vehicles drove up to the business, one of which “began ramming the business in an attempt to gain access.” The employee fired a gun, and the cars drove away.
KRON4 visited the gas station on Wednesday afternoon and saw crews working to replace the front door.
