A man suspected of homicide was shot by police in Anaheim while authorities were serving a search warrant on Friday, Aug. 9, police said.

Around 1:30 p.m., authorities were assisting U.S. Marshals with serving a search warrant in the area near State College Boulevard and La Palma Avenue, near the 91 Freeway, said Anaheim Police Sgt. Matt Sutter. The man, whose identity had not been released as of 3:45 p.m., was suspected of a homicide in another city, he said, though details surrounding the case were not immediately available.

At least one officer shot the suspect, who was taken to a hospital, Sutter said. His condition was not provided.

It was not immediately clear if the man was armed or had shot at police.

This is a developing story. More information will be added when it becomes available.
