The Penn committed pitcher allowed a combined three runs in two starts and earned victories against top-seeded El Modena and Beaumont in the Monarchs’ run to the Division 2 semifinals.
Mya Diaz, Orange Lutheran, Sr.
The Concordia-bound second baseman went 7 for 11 with five RBIs in three games to help the No. 1 Lancers reach the Division 1 finals.
Abby Ford, JSerra, Fr.
The hard-throwing freshman tossed a shutout with 13 strikeouts in a 2-0 win against Great Oak in the Division 1 quarterfinals. She pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts in a 1-0 loss against defending champion Pacifica in the semifinals.
Emily Ganguly, Oxford Academy, Fr.
The pitcher earned three victories and struck out 18 in 19 innings in Division 7 to help the Patriots reach their first section final.
Aleena Garcia, Whittier Christian, Sr.
The UCLA-bound shortstop hit a three-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to force extra innings in a 7-5 loss in 14 innings to California in the Division 2 quarterfinals.
Sam Gresham, Canyon, Jr.
The Dartmouth committed center fielder had a three-run home run and a single in a 7-4 loss against top-seeded Orange Lutheran in the Division 1 quarterfinals.
Katelynn Mathews, Fullerton, Fr.
The pitcher didn’t allow an earned run and struck out 11 in a combined 12 innings in the Division 3 playoffs. She earned her 10th victory against Woodbridge in the second round and pitched well in a quarterfinal loss against top-seeded West Torrance.
Loula-Rae McNamara, Tesoro, Jr.
The Boise State commit allowed three earned runs in six innings and collected three hits in a 4-3 loss to Gahr in the Division 2 quarterfinals.
Brynne Nally, Pacifica, Sr.
The Long Beach State signee pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and also had two hits in a 1-0 win against JSerra in the Division 1 semifinals. She earned two victories and had a combined three RBIs against Oaks Christian and South Hills in the quarterfinals and first round, respectively.
Quinn Southerland, Capistrano Valley, Sr.
The Boise State-bound shortstop had a double and a RBI triple in an 11-7 loss to No. 1 Orange Lutheran in the Division 1 first round.
