Noteworthy: Day highlighted a strong postseason by hitting a walk-off, two-run home run in a 4-2 victory against Marina in the CIF-SS Division 1 wild card round. It was Day’s first home run of the season.
In the first round on Tuesday, she continued her hot hitting by going 2 for 3 with a double and RBI in an 11-7 loss against No. 1 Orange Lutheran.
Quote: “It was a great feeling,” Day said of the walk-off home run. “In the beginning (of the season), it was a little rough (at the plate) because it was my first year starting for varsity. But I started getting in the groove at the end of it, and in CIF, I started hitting.”
