High school students and recent graduates can sign up on the website and be sure to dress for success and bring multiple copies of your resume.

Celebrate all things Greek
St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church is presenting its always popular Greek Festival from May 17 to 19.
The 3-day event will feature all-things Greek, including food of all kinds, entertainment and dancing, a wine bar, pastries to go, and a market for purchases.
Festival hours are 3 to 10 p.m. on May 17; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on May 18 and noon to 9 p.m. on May 19. The church is at 405 Dale St. For more information call 714-827-0181.
Recognizing efforts at beauty
Anaheim Beautiful will be presenting awards in June for those who take extra steps to make their property beautiful.
Property awards are presented on a quarterly basis throughout the year. It is easy to self-nominate your property or submit any residential or commercial property to be considered for an award.

Have some fun with the Muzeo
The Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center is presenting Beach Blanket Bingo on June 2.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. and promises lots of fun. Sponsorships are available.

Planning for Flag Day
Mark your calendars for a local tribute to Old Glory in Anaheim.
The 20th annual Anaheim Flag Day celebration is scheduled 11:30 a.m. for June 9 at Pearson Park. Each year the event features a patriotic parade, a tribute to the American Flag and more.

Keep up with summer reading
The Anaheim Public Library system will be launching its Summer Reading Program on May 28.
The theme this year is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.” Patrons of all ages can log their reading and complete activities to earn prizes. It’s a way to encourage reading over the summer break.

Enjoy a night with the Rotary Club
The Rotary Club is brining “Grapes & Grains” back on May 22 at the City National Grove of Anaheim.
The fundraiser will feature a variety of wines and brews, as well as music and meals.
Tickets are available at Eventbrite.com and all proceeds will benefit local youth and seniors served by the Rotary Club of Anaheim.
Founders’ Park has open house tours
Founders’ Park features the historic Mother Colony House and Woelke-Stoffel House and free tours are offered on the first Saturday of each month, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The city park, at 400 N. West St., also offers agricultural history of Anaheim with walkways and trails that lead visitors through recreated 19th century landscapes.
At the Carriage House you can obtain up to six seed packets from the Seed Library. There are California natives, heirloom fruits and vegetables and more.
Backyard gardeners are encouraged to take pictures and to tag them on social media at @AnaheimLibrary and use #PlantwithAPL to show them what you have grown. For more information, visit the Anaheim.net/Library site.
Host a Japanese student
Anaheim’s Sister City, Mito, Japan, is sending students to Anaheim for the sister city exchange program.
This is part of the Sister City program sponsored by the Anaheim Sister City Commission; Mito has been a sister city since 1984.
Host families accommodate Japanese guests and ensure a fun and safe visit to Anaheim.

Free mulch and compost available
Compost and mulch are available to local residents through OC Waste & Recycling.
Supplies can be picked up from the Bee Canyon Greenery at the Frank R. Bowerman Landfill in Irvine and the Capistrano Greenery at the Prima Deschecha Landfill in San Juan Capistrano. Make an appointment at OCLandfills.com/compost to pick some up.
Plan to take a shovel and containers that you can fill on your own.
